The Super Soaker CPS 2500 matches the Super Soaker CPS 2000 in size and was Larami's replacement to the discontinued Super Soaker CPS 2000. The CPS 2500 has three nozzles of varying sized on the front which are selected by turning the front end clockwise or counter-clockwise. The nozzles are rated as 5x, 10x and 20x. The 5x setting is good for conserving water. The 10x setting is good for typical engagement with the enemy. The 20x setting works best if one desires to seriously drench an opponent. The 20x setting is nearly equivalent to the stream produced by the Super Soaker CPS 2000! Upon closer inspection, one will see that the size of the firing chamber is significantly smaller than the Super Soaker CPS 2000's chamber (roughly the same as that of the Super Soaker CPS 2000 Mk. 2's chamber). While lowering the amount of water that can be fired in a full burst, it does extend the battle time this blaster has on the field. The shoulder strap makes the CPS 2500 easier to carry despite its size and weight when fully loaded. Its built-in handle offers a comfortable place to hold when refilling.

All in all, the Super Soaker CPS 2500 is a great weapon for heavier engagements. It is best, however, to carry a sidearm along with this blaster if travelling farther from a safe source of water.

Pros

The blaster's size definitely adds to its intimidation factor making your opponents think twice before attacking. The three different nozzle settings lets one choose to either seriously drench or conserve water depending on the amount of water remaining in the tank. The pump is mounted beneath the barrel making it quite resistant to damage.

Cons

As with most of the CPS line, one can quickly empty the tank if being a little overzealous with the trigger. It also takes quite awhile to pump up the firing chamber. Though intimidating, one is more likely to be attacked if using this as one's opponents will typically go for the larger blasters first (unless, of course, you happen to be travelling with someone using a blaster like a Super Soaker CPS 3000).

At the time Super Soaker said that the CPS 2000 was discontinued in order to make way for the 2500, and in a way that was true given a products life cycle over a few years.  Although given what happened with the 2000 there was some toning down in power to do.  Even so, the 2500 is still a great soaker improving over the 2000 in terms of practicality.  It helps that it is part of the 98 line of CPS’s.

Boasting the 2000’s rifle like toy looks only with red instead of purple, a very ‘Highway To Hell’ style look actually, the 2500 can cause just as much mayhem as the 2000 can, only this time with more flexibility with three nozzle settings of 5x, 10x and the one shot kill 20x.  Like the 2000, it has pretty much the same features, like the CPS chamber acting as a pressure gauge, a better more solid tacked pump, around the same reservoir volume and a strap.  All this makes the 2500 a much more useful soaker to use over the 2000, with the main difference being more nozzles to control your supply better.  It also takes around the same amount of time to pump as the 2000 which isn’t too long.  Ranges especially on the 5x and 10x nozzles are great, only this time given there are some smaller nozzles, the stream will last longer.  The CPS 2500 can still charge into a party and basically say ‘Ok enough of this crap it’s smashing time, RIOT!’ so you can be sure this thing will make most of your opponents go into hiding for a few days.
The problem is that the 20x nozzle isn’t as good as what it was on the 2000.  Don’t get me wrong it can still make an opponent think they may as well not have worn any clothes; however it doesn’t shoot as far and is less focused with the stream being a bit more broken up.  Combine this with a small firing chamber capacity (it’s actually around the same as the 1000/1200/2100), then this nozzle along with the 5x and 10x don’t shoot for too long, so you’ll be doing quite a bit of pumping.  You may get more shots per tank, however given the rate this thing still erupts water out of all its nozzles you’ll run out quickly if you’re not careful.  It is also a bit long and poky, so if you are someone who wants something lighter and less bulky this isn’t it.

The CPS 2500 though is still a great blaster that in terms of using it in battle improves upon the 2000 while still retaining the mayhem that made the 2000 what it was.  It also is a bit more durable and won’t rip your wallet as badly, however they are still pretty costly.  While there’s nothing really massively special about it to me, the 2500 is just a great all round simple no nonsense heavy soaker that is great for the user who wants a heavy powerful cannon that won’t weigh them down like a six pack.  It is a worthy addition to anyone’s box of silly but insanely good toys.

Using the CPS 2500

Like the 2000 you can take on pretty much anything.  You still need to watch out while you pump since the pressure chamber volume is low.  Do however watch out for CPS 1500/1700 users as they are very similar only smaller with near the same power and fierce output, making a good match.

Against the CPS 2500

Despite being deadly, it is not unbeatable.  Even with a smaller or similar sized soaker, you can take advantage of dodging its short deadly shots, leaving the user vulnerable while pumping, and then quite literally, do your worst!

The CPS 2500 was released in 1998 to replace the CPS 2000, and they look very similar. Same design, same color pump and grip, surprisingly similar ranges when shot next to each other. The 2500 has a red color theme and 3 nozzles, rated 5x, 10x, and 20x. While good for dumping out loads of water, the 20x nozzle is not all it's cracked up to be. Since the 10x lasts longer and shoots further, it is advisable to use that for high soakage. 20x only makes it out 30 ft or so, but my 10x nozzle has just barely reached 50ft and my 5x has come close to that. The 2500 is well built and durable. It is a very reliable weapon that rarely breaks and has a strong tracked pump. This soaker is powerful enough to go head-to-head with any large CPS or modded gun. It even has enough range and soakage to hold its own against a homemade water gun, although each shot doesn't last long. You can waste the water very quickly, so I would recommend tap shooting to prolong the time between refills. You can go for more than an hour without the need to refill, even in heavy combat, if you only take short tap shots. The grip can sometimes give blisters, but it takes at least an hour for this to happen. As for weight, the average user may have some difficulty, but an experienced user can really run and move with this thing. It is much easier to be mobile with a large soaker than most people think.

The CPS 2500 is a large-heavy soaker released 1998. Its design is identical to the CPS 2000, but has 3 nozzles instead of 1,  red colours instead of purple and shoots 7 feet less in distance than the CPS 2000 making it the second most powerful Super Soaker. The specialty of the CPS 2500 is its power and long size.  Because of these qualities, the now very rare soaker is one of the most popular water weapons in existence among Water Warriors and Collectors.

This is an excellent blaster for almost any situation. The interchangeable nozzles help in all situations: 5x for sniping, 10x for fun, and 20x for total destruction! This is my weapon of choice for any combat mission.

Pros: Good, heavy-duty blaster that could wreck a Volkswagen beetle if necessary (Enemy defense have been encountered so far)
Cons: This is extremely heavy. On 20x you only get about 3 seconds of water power if you are lucky. Power gauge fogs up. Blaster tends to stick out in the bush

Overall: Good blaster for the extreme super soaker soldier.

While the CPS2500 is an exact design copy of the admired CPS2000, its capabilities falter when it comes to firepower. The CPS2500 looks a lot like a sniper rifle. When I first got this blaster, I was about 10 years old and had trouble carrying it. Of course, it got easier after awhile. However, there was one problem with the grip which continues to bother me: whenever excessively shooting with the blaster, the grip tends to make my thumb hit the side of the blaster. I ended up facing the concequences with two cuts on the bottom of my thumb. Other than that, the CPS2500 is luxury. If you can carry something like this, you'll realize how it perfectly fits just where you want your hands to go.
Shooting in a sniper-position is probably the best way to use this blaster. Since its shape is completely straight, it makes it easier to aim and fire. I found this difficult with the CPS1200 and all the other ghetto-designed super soakers which have bases at different heights.
However, if you plan to use this for running and gunning, you've made a serious mistake. Even though the 5x nozzle is powerful and conservative in the reservoir, the amount you can pump and shoot at a time is limited. It took me about two years to get used to the ridiculous amount of pumping this blaster requires after such little shooting. I would understand to pump after at least 2-3 seconds of firing, but the 5x nozzle takes about 1.5 seconds of constant firing. This is where the sniping characteristic comes.
However, if you like to snipe or use your shots wisely, you'll really enjoy the range and power of the CPS 2500. Choosing between the three nozzles (5x, 10x, and 20x) (which all are easy to switch back and forth once you memorize their location), you'll find yourself in complete paradise. 20x may last for about 1 second, but the blast is huge. If you manage to get a well placed shot with it, you're guaranteed serious drenching on the opponent. 10x is recommended for a powerful sniper blast which can soak quite hard if the shot is well-placed. 5x is a decent running and gunning shooting nozzle. However, you can't get much out before you're left dry.
Overall, the CPS 2500 is a sniper-specialized blaster. If you don't plan to sit down there and concentrate on someone to eliminate, choose another blaster. However, this is as reliable as any sniper blaster can get (other than the CPS 2000). If you're suddenly caught in a tight situation where you have to move, the 5x nozzle will be your best friend.

Pros: Amazing sniper rifle... probably the best! Great at targetting. 20x nozzle can take anything out in its path. Weight is quite decent.

Cons: Awkward grip which could cause thumb cuts. Huge water supply in reservoir, but barely any ready to fire when you pump. Even though it could help you conserve water, you won't be too successful in a battle situation. Intimidation factor could get many to gang up on one user. 22 pumps to load this thing up.

Power Tip: This could work with any multiple nozzle blaster. Set your nozzle setting to show half of open nozzle, and half blocked. When you shoot, it causes an amazing shower effect with still a great range! Try it out... it works with any multiple-nozzle blaster.

Fighting against the CPS 2500: If you can get rid of the fact of being scared by this huge one-shot-one-kill-looking blaster, you can easily win. Take advantage of its slowness, and always shoot at the user while he/she is struggling to pump so much because the darn thing uses up its water supply so quickly. Keep away when you know it's sniping you, especially with a 20x nozzle. If you can keep moving around the place, confusing the user, you can easily win.
