The Super Soaker XP 310 makes a great medium assault rifle. It holds more water than its cousin, the Super Soaker XP 110. Its two pressure chambers hold a good amount of pressurized water while its pressure gauge makes it simple to tell how much pumping is needed. Its water reservoir is transparent so that water levels can be easily checked. The XP 310 has four XP-class nozzles to choose from, the smallest being about classic-nozzle size while the largest appears a little larger than XP (perhaps 2x). This offers a longer firing time when on the lowest setting versus the largest (about double, actually). The reservoir comes with a tethered cap to help prevent the cap's loss. Pumping is quick and easy, giving this XP-class weapon a good punch. Its size and balance are nice, allowing one to hold one's ground even against the lower CPS-class weapons.

Thanks to the XP 310's side-mounted pressure gauge, it can be prepumped to a defineable pressure using air before loading the firing chambers with water. The trick is to pre-pump the firing chamber with air until the pressure gauge is about 1/3 the way to maximum. This can be done by holding the blaster upsidedown and pumping. The added air pressure in the firing chamber will make the water stream behave more CPS-like. However, the firing angle is still limited.

Great even as a primary weapon, the Super Soaker XP 310 is perfect for small to medium skirmishes and can hold awhile in large ones. Just beware of any CPS-class weaponry as well as larger XPs and XXPs.

Pros

Nice size, light, easy to carry. Despite its size, it packs respectable power. It also does not take too much effort to pump up the pressure chamber. The tank provides a respectable amount of water considering its rate of fire. Easy to fill with a nice, tethered cap and transparent water reservoir. The pressure gauge is also good for figuring out how much more pumping needs to be done. The four XP-nozzle settings offer some flexibility on water usage plus they look nice.

Cons

This is a rather small weapon compared to the others out there. The XP-class nozzles are outclassed by all of the CPS-line of weapons. Parts of the reservoir are below the intake meaning that one will have to tilt the weapon to get the last bits of water into the firing chamber.

The Good:
This is a very standard air pressure rifle.  It fits the sporting purpose standard quite well.  Its a replacement for the XP 110, which was in turn a replacement for the XP 105.  It was itself replaced a year or two later (I forget) by the MaxD 6000.  All have been (or are) good double p/c air pressure guns, and this one is no exception.

The tank is average sized and gives you enough water to see you through a few skirmishes.  You're not gonna go a whole fight, but you've got some staying power.  Also, due to the placement of the intake in the tank, it makes the most of its water supply, which is great.

The dual p/cs give this thing enough power to compete with most of the air pressure guns out there.  You're going to get par or above par range, so try and attack from the very furthest possible distance.  Plus you can see through the p/cs, so you know when to repump.

The Bad:
The nozzle selection sucks.  I can't tell hardly any difference between the smallest and largest nozzles.  They're all pretty puny, and if one or two is punier than another...well, that's not a good thing.  There should at least be a 3x-5x on this gun.  If they'd put a bigger nozzle on, this gun would be THE gun to have.  You're better off denozzling the 310, or at the very least, drilling out a nozzle.  You'll get much better results.

The pressure gauge, while useful, has a tendency to break over time.  The gauge cracked off at the base of the connecting pipe on mine, and when I went to glue it back on, I discovered the pipe wanted to do a lawn sprinkler imitation.  There were dozens of little pinholes in it.  Some of my friends have also reported leaking 310s as well as broken gauges, so I'm guessing the gauge is the weakest point on the gun.  You might want to re-enforce it with some epoxy if you're worried about it breaking.

The Ugly:
This is a pretty "blah" gun.  Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of styling.

The Gun Cabinet:
Since the 310 works best as a shotgun - without the nozzles, I'd rate it at like, a Remington 870 Junior Model 20 gauge shotgun.  Still good, but weaker than a bigger gun.

Overall:
Stock, I wouldn't expect TOO much from this gun.  Sure, the best nozzle has a little drenching power, and you can get good range and shot time with it, but you're best option is to take the nozzles off, engage your target at close range, and drench 'em.  You're going to want to have a back-up though, because without nozzles, the 310 will go through its p/cs in a heartbeat.

The XP310 has a versatile range of uses. When I first used this gun, I was amazed at the range achieved by any nozzle selection. I was able to soak people from far distances with that gun. It has a comfortable feel to it, and although it doesn’t have a strap can be carried quite easily. I imagine it’s very good for sniping from a good distance. The gun, since it has rather small nozzles, doesn’t run out of water as quickly as one would assume. The nozzle selector itself switches between nozzles very smoothly, although that does make it prone to not resting on a selection completely and firing out the sides. My major complaint about this gun is the nozzle sizes. There isn’t enough variation of sizes in the four small nozzles on the gun, so if you switch to the largest you won’t have be that much of a difference in range/shot time.

Pros: Light, comfortable, and excellent for sniping and modifications.

Cons: No strap, smaller nozzles than necessary. The pump is not track mounted, so it is more liable to break.

If you see one of these guns in stores, go ahead and buy it up.

The XP310 one of the best water blasters I have ever used. It's just so versatile!I like the concept of the interchangeable nozzles.There is 1x, 1.2x,1.5x,and 2x.There isn't any need for the 1.2x and 1.5x. Nobody really uses them. The XP310 is possibly the most powerful XP super soaker and it packs 25% more water than the XP110. It has an odd pump but it glides smoothly and fits my left hand just right. The pressure gauge helps alot, letting you know how much to pump before shooting. The really cool thing about this blaster that I like is that it actually has a recoil effect when firing with the 2x nozzle, alot like a CPS does. Over all XP blasters, this is my favorite.

Weight: 4 (light and easy to carry)
Compasity: 5 (25% more water and the ability to overfill it)
Overall: 5 (this blaster just plain rocks!)

The XP-310 is a very versatile assault rifle. This would definitely be an excellent choice for snipers or people who are young and don't want the put up with the heavier CPSs (like me).
The range of this blaster is very good on 2x although, on the other 3 nozzles (1x, 1.2x, and 1.5x), the range becomes shorter by size. The power of this XP was not what I expected (that's a good thing! :-P) because I've been using XP-70s, XP-270s, etc. with 1x nozzles. The 2x nozzle looks intimidating and I believe that the 2x, although powerful, uses up water a bit quicker than say...the 1x. The durability looks fine, although watch out for the pump handle. The nozzles change with a satisfying click. Water is trapped in between the nozzles, so be sure to change them around to release this water.
Overall, the XP-310 is an excellent assault rifle, and sniper weapon for people who want a nice, light, powerful Super Soaker.

When I first took this out of the box, I noticed just how cool it looks, and it does! With that black styling and new better colours, it looks absolutely wicked.

It is reasonably light, even though I compared it with my XP 110 which was considerably heavier expecially with a full tank. The pump and handle just fit into my hands perfectly, making it a real nice personal weapon. You can even fire it one handed.

The XP 310 can stay on the battlefield for quite a long time, epecially on the 1x nozzle, which is quite an asset. Just keep pumping and you will keep shooting.

Personally, I think the four nozzles are a waste. I think there should be only 3 nozzles, 1x, 2x and 4x. The end is covered so knowing what nozzle you are changing to might just get you a shot in the eye at point blank range if you are unlucky (I was).

Range is a little pathetic. You really have to put it on 2x to get an decent amount of range, so do not consider this blaster for a sniper outfit. Also, because they are small waterstreams, they are very vulnerable to wind.

Power is not that bad and the natural hit of the water has quite good soaking power. It has a weaker velocity than the XP 110, which could release an burst of water that could take an eyeball out, but soaks the clothes better even if it does not sting like the XP 110 does.

Overall, this is an good blaster which has an good feel to it. You can decimate any foe in a group of four armed with these. Consider using XP310s while on bikes.
