The Nerf Super Soaker Flip Fill is a pump-action water blaster released by Hasbro Inc. in 2024. The design seems to provide similar functionality to the 2023 X Shot Epic Fast Fill, notably due to the "flip" rear-opening reservoir.

Limited Review .:

The Nerf Super Soaker Flip Fill derives its name from the action and process used when refilling this water blaster. Unlike typical water blasters that have either reservoir caps or detachable reservoirs, the Nerf Super Soaker Flip Fill's entire grip region and backside of the reservoir are attached to a hinge which, upon depressing a release lever, allows the back of the water blaster to "flip" open, exposing a large opening to refilling the reservoir.

As depicted by the graphics at the bottom of the box, the idea is that once the reservoir is opened, the forward part of the blaster can then be submerged into a pool or bucket of water, allowing the whole reservoir to be refilling in just a few seconds. While submerging reservoirs can also be done with many of the detachable reservoirs, those reservoirs tend to have smaller openings and refill more slowly since air must escape for water to enter. As for the fixed-reservoir water blasters, such blasters require taller faucets or garden hoses for refilling and, also due to smaller opening available, take longer than a few seconds to refill. Of course, the Nerf Super Soaker Flip Fill can also be refilling from hoses or faucets.

That said, stream performance for the Nerf Super Soaker Flip Fill is expected to be on par with most other standard pump-action water blasters. One notable concern with the proposed method of refilling is that submerging the forward part of the blaster completely in water will likely result in water also entering into this blaster's internals. As internal parts tend to remain wet for longer periods of time after use, this can promote rusting of any internal metal parts as well as growth of mold.

At present, there are no plans to do further performance testing of this water blaster at iSoaker.com.

Overall, the Nerf Super Soaker Flip Fill offers more action time and less refilling time presuming one has access to a deep enough bucket or pool. Performance is expected to be on par with most other pump-action water blasters. Good for casual soakfests and small skirmishes, the Nerf Super Soaker Flip Fill is likely outclassed by most larger pressurized water blasters.

Pros

Quick-fill capable (presuming a deep-enough pool of water is available); simple pump-action water blasting

Cons

Using the quick-fill method likely leads to water entering blaster internals; easily outclassed by most pressurized water blasters
