The Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker is an interesting novelty water blaster released by Wowwee in 2025. While the streams produced are powered by trigger-based pumps, the overall design and ability to separate the two blasters provide some added utility on the field.

The Packaging .:

The Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker has no notable protective packaging. Instead, it can be found on shelves or in an open box with its simple descriptive hanging tag. Oddly enough, at least in the store this particular blaster was purchased from, there appear to be no ties preventing the removal of the small blaster from the larger one.

Design .:
The Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker is desgned in a way to allow the smaller blaster on the base of the front to be slid out and separated from the larger blaster in the back. Thus, one can opt to use the Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker in its combined form with its dual-independently blasting streams or separate the two parts and dual-wield these blasters, tracking two targets separately if one chooses to. Granted, the idea of combined water blasters is far from new with older models like the Water Warriors 5th Dimension (2005) and the Super Soaker Triple Aggressor (2004) coming to mind. There was also the Water Warriors Ultimate series (2011) that allowed multiple different water blasters to be attached together. However, the Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker differs from previous water blasters by the used of a sliding rail/track system that serves to securely connect the two blasters together.

Build and Ergonomics .:
The build and ergonomics of the Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker is decent for simple, trigger-based water blasters. Due to its design, the trigger-grip sizes of the Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker are different, with the smaller blaster having a shorter, narrower grip as opposed to the larger rear trigger-grip area. However, as both grips are open, even larger hands can grab them, though there may not room on the grip for all of one's fingers. Plastic is decent, but the entire water blaster feels slightly lighter than it looks. Both triggers pull smoothly and easily. The larger blaster's reservoir is accessed easily via the top-mounted snap cap. The smaller blaster, on the other hand, has a small plug cap mounted at the center of the decorative orange circle on the right-side. There is a small tab to help one pull out the plug cap, but if this tab were to break, it would become rather difficult to remove the reservoir's cap.

Overall Performance .:

The performance of the two water blasters that make up the Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker are on par with average trigger-based water blasters. Range and output are limited, but functional. The novelty and utility of having this dual arrangement is having both flexibility in terms of single or double stream attacks while also flexibility in terms of having linked directionality of both nozzles or splitting the water blasters apart to allow one to theoretically track two different targets simultaneously. The fact that each nozzle is fed by its own reservoir means that if one part runs out of water, there is a chance one can still continue attacking or defending with the other. Granted, we are still only talking about the performance of trigger-based water blasters.

Overall .:

In the end, even though one has twice the power available versus a single trigger-based water blaster, the Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker remains readily outclassed by most larger pump actions and/or pressurized water blasters available. Fun for light skirmished, free-for-alls, or even as back-up when using a large water blaster as one's primary, the Nerf Super Soaker Doubledecker offers simple, fun water squirting performance. Just do not expect to thoroughly drench any opponent on a single full filling.

Pros

Simple to fill and easy to use; dual water blasters offers flexibility of choosing to use them combined or separated via sliding the two blasters apart.

Cons

Small water blaster's reservoir cap somewhat trickier to open and fill; smaller blaster hows significantly less water despite having nearly identical output, thus will run out of water faster if blasting with both nozzles simultaneously; rack-based attachment mechanism may become looser or less easy to operate over time, especially if railed become dirty or damaged
