January 4, 2014 - Day 4 .:

While I had mulled about whether or not to keep the WordPress-driven part of iSoaker.com for several weeks prior to today, on January 4, 2014, I finally decided it would be best for me to abandon it in favour of keeping things simpler for what would be required to maintain iSoaker.com in the years to come. The above is a screen capture of the migration of iSoak'D Comic Strips from the WordPress content section into pages managed using Adobe Dreamweaver CS6. While WordPress is a great platform, it's continual development seems to continually require upgraded features in the servers needed to run the application. As I presently rent server space as opposed to managing my own server, to upgrade the server would involve not only moving the entire site, but also involves additional expenses, too. Though these non-WordPress pages are not as optimized as the WordPress pages, one of my goals for 2014 is to improve the basic structure and SEO of the entire iSoaker.com site without relying on any additional platforms or external web applications. This is going to be a major work-in-progress for many months to come. Then again, the goal is to make the site easier to maintain for many more years, so now is the best time to start.
