January 31, 2014 - Day 31 .:

This is the making of an iSoak'D comic strip. Since its beginning, I've used Adobe Fireworks to draw each strip, but have (slightly) improved the drawings over the years by adjusting some of the line presets and using a Wacom drawing tablet (sometimes) instead of simply a mouse to create some of the shapes. Beyond the drawing, of course, the biggest challenge in any comic strip is coming up with a good story and punchline within the limited number of frames one has to work with. Making these comic strips is definitely fun, but I don't think I'd do well if I had to force myself to come up with a new strip every day. My respect for the artists who provide newspapers and online publications with daily strips was significantly increased after actually trying to create these more regularly.
