Day after range testing. Since it's impossible to completely empty a water blaster immediately after use, I give blasters at least a couple of days to dry out more. The day after use, if I am planning on storing a blaster for a long period of time, I pump/blast the soaker a few times to try to clear out and lingering water. Depending on how much residual water remained on the first day after use, it determines how many more days I opt to let a blaster air out before storing. If it's just mist shots, I'd give it one more day. If there was more of a stream produced, would have to repeat the pump-blast the next day and re-assess then.
