I learned this trick from reading on how to pack when traveling and am now finally applying it to my water blaster storage. In short, to reduce the musty smell, adding a sheet of scented fabric softener does wonders. I found myself smelling a bunch of dryer sheets in the store the other day, looking for a scent that didn't trigger my allergies. Downy won this round.
